Dear Colleagues and Friends,

The first facial skeleton D.O procedure was presented in the early nineties at the Saint Jacques de Compostelle Conference; in 1997 the Paris D.O. Conference participated in the opening of the process and today for the fifth time in Paris all the compagnons of D.O. are gathered together to ask the question like at the Palazzo Grassi in Venezia: “Where are we going?”.

We must include in our answer the new technologies such as tissue engineering, inductive membranes, precursor cells.

Building the bridge between different disciplines gives the patient the best possible treatment and represents our pathway for the future.

The Organising Committee and myself would like to say “Bienvenue” to all participants and wish them a fruitful Congress and a wonderful stay in Paris!
